Google’s John Mueller mentioned on Twitter that it’s best to implement your structured information on the web page itself and never use Google Tag Supervisor to implement your structured information. He mentioned the reason being as a result of it makes it “straight-forward & often simpler to watch/preserve.”
John did add that utilizing Google Tag Supervisor is “nice for attempting structured information out & fine-tuning.” However once more, the ultimate implementation, he thinks, must be accomplished straight on the web page itself.

GTM may be loaded earlier than customers settle for cookies, because it would not set cookies, however the web site you are working with may not do this, what would end in schema by way of GTM not being accessible to crawlers that do not settle for cookies.

For those who can implement the SD on the web page itself, I would purpose for that. GTM is nice for attempting SD out & fine-tuning it, however on-page SD is rather more straight-forward & often simpler to watch/preserve.

Google earlier mentioned it’s okay to use Google Tag Manager for structured data after saying to avoid it for experiments. However then Google added to its developer docs learn how to use Tag Supervisor with structured information.
